Serendipity
Farm is nestled in the Hunterdon County portion of the Sourland Mountain
area of New Jersey. The
33-acre property is the central part of the historic Wert family
farm, which dates back to
1706,
with additions dating back to 1869. Today, Serendipity Farm is
in the business of breeding and boarding horses.
Our facilities can accommodate up to 30 horses; we currently
have 25 horses
on the premises.
Our breeding
operation focuses on the breeding of show jumpers and dressage horses.
We currently
have four brood mares, all of which are in foal for 2005. We mostly
breed to European Warmbloods, such as Hanoverian, Holsteiner,
Selle Francais
and
Westphalian.
Currently we have
four yearlings, four two-year-olds, two three-year-olds, a five-year-old,
and a seven-year-old that
were all born at Serendipity. We market our homebreds by the time
they are three years of age. Our sale horses generally range
in age from yearlings to five-year-olds and in price from $5,000
to $50,000, depending on age, ability, training, and horseshow
experience.
